The Ronald McDonald House, Walk of Love in April 2019 was the first time Zoefia got to see her brick which she requested. Her exact words were “I want my name on a Brick and I want Everyone to see it when they come to the Ronald McDonald House” So of-course Momma ordered a Brick for her. I was happy that she got the opportunity and was excited to see it after she woke up from a coma, it’s a moment I will always remember.

My Beautiful daughter Zoefia Alexandria, 2013 – 2019. It’s been exactly a month since you’re laid to rest! There will never be enough words to describe the incredible, fearless, loving, caring, courageous, amazing, resilient, blessed little girl that you were! I have always fought for you and will never stop even now. You taught me so much about Love and Life and how to balance while wearing so many hats. You were diagnosed with cancer, but cancer never had us! You did the impossible beat odds and made medical professionals question their own practices! You were more than just a little girl with cancer, and I was more than just a cancer mom. You always pushed me to the limits of becoming what you needed, from a mother, to a nurse when you’re home, to a doctor when I had to do research for the best treatments and switch hospitals because they gave up on you, always challenging and pushing doctors to do more for you, to a pharmacist when I didn’t agree with medications, to a Nutritionist when I felt your diet wasn’t right for your condition, to a lawyer when I fought for you in court, to a teacher when you were home school, to a social worker when I seek out things you needed the list goes on! I never stop advocating and made sure everyone that came in your presence knew it was a blessing for them to meet you and they had to treat you right and give you the best care! But at the end of the day, you called me momma and your best friend and that’s all that matters those are the hats that meant the most! So, after it all when I look back, we have so many memories and did so much in your 6 years! … Your Story continues… You will always live within me and walk by my side. I will continue and finish all that we started! When people look at me, they will always see you, learn about you and your story will be told! We always walk by faith so as I stand alone today, I am Full of Love, your love, and Full of Life with all the memories you gave me! If I had to do it all again for you, I would wear all those hats and 100 more!
Until we are together again, you will always be in my heart and my dreams and your work I shall continue… We are just getting started we didn’t love, live, and learn to throw it all away! The fight continues in Zoefia’s Memory to help other cancer kids and inspire them to be more than just a child with cancer. But to have a name to go with their face, to conquer and overcome obstacles and know that they can do anything. The Zoefia way!
